"If you live to be 100, I want to live to be 100 minus 1 day, so I never have to live without you."
Winnie the Pooh
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam. And for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world. But then it flies on again, and though we wish it could have stayed, we feel so lucky to have seen it.

Where is she...
Today at Giant the checker said "oh, is your daughter at school?"
You see, Tyra and I were frequent visitors to Giant. We could have fun picking out frozen veggies just as well as stylish clothes. (Clothes not shoes - shoe shopping topped it all). So, since Tyra died I've shopped in other stores and when I have ventured into Giant I usually do self check out. The folks in the produce dept, deli, and pharmacy learned of her passing many months ago but today this sweet checker had not.
I inhaled - blinked - and said "she died". The checker was noticeably shaken and came around to give me a big hug. I then shared with her how Tyra died as I worry that people will think she was sickly. Tyra was anything but sickly. Then the two of us talked about how joyful Tyra was. Without realizing the women behind me in line chimed in about what an awesome story we had. I then broke out the pictures. FOREVER HER PROUD MOTHER.
I shared with the checker that just last week a colleague asked "How's your daugh.." and caught herself - then apologizing. I assured her it was OKAY, that I was already thinking of Tyra. Several months ago I would get sad when folks would ask me where she was but today... TODAY I am GRATEFUL.
GRATEFUL that people remember her. GRATEFUL that people remember us.
In answer to the question... Where is your daughter?
She is in my heart - She is in our story -
She was with me in line at Giant today, if only I could have hugged her.
